“We found the cottage clean, comfortable and well equipped. We particularly appreciated Gower (an excellent book! Ed) by Jonathan Mullard” (B.Y)
“Great location for exploring Gower. Recommend The Greyhound (pub in Oldwalls. Ed) and Howells the Butcher in Penclawdd. (H’s)
“Accommodation ideal and comfortable. Dan-yr-Ogof caves and waterfalls worth the journey for the kids. Lovely holiday: surfing, boat trip to Worm’s head, Gowerton - Mumbles cycle path, food at Britannia Inn and Oxwich Bay Hotel.” (B’s)
“We discovered Gower to be a very beautiful and special place. Crofty is a great location for exploring Gower, Swansea, Cardiff and around. The tide flow over the Saltmarsh at this time of year was quite a site, and watching the sunset with the tide full provided some amazing photographs. The house is very comfortable, clean and well equipped, with loads of information about the area, which really helped us find our way about. The Chinese Restaurant (The Sea Garden. Ed) and King Arthur Hotel well worth eating at. The Crofty inn is a friendly local. Brilliant, thanks – and the flying was superb.” (NG) (This visitor achieved his Paragliding licence during his stay!)
“The house is lovely, well equipped and so close to the marshes. The horses often wander down the back lane, which can be a bit of a shock when you’re out early in the morning! Bird watching is amazing! The Crofty Inn does a superb meal, as well as the Greyhound at Old Walls. Penclawdd is a good walk (these visitors found the high path from Hermon Chapel: stunning views. Ed) and has a good supermarket that sells amazing pasties. (Their bread is superb too. Ed) The weather was bad, but the boys spent the whole week enjoying the Lego. (Large box provided. Ed) Who needs theme parks and amusement arcades when you have good old fashioned Lego!! Thanks, Sally and Peter.” (M.R )
“Sally made us feel very welcome, and the accommodation was perfect. We enjoyed walking down to the salt marshes, with sheep and ponies, and exploring the Gower. We had perfect weather for Oxwich Bay, rain in Rhosilli, and good times at the Gower Heritage Centre. This was a good half day out with old farming machinery, rabbits, ponies and watermills. We’ll be back!!!” (L’s)
“A splendid week’s walking in ideal weather – comfortable temperatures and no rain. We found Tŷ Cefn well equipped for our needs and we particularly appreciated the extensive collection of local books. We enjoyed meals at The Sea Garden Chinese Restaurant and The Crofty Inn. (Y’s)
“House well equipped and in a great location to explore Gower. Worm’s Head is well worth a visit, with excellent views on a clear day!” (M’s)
“Had a lovely few days. Weather mixed. Second time to the Gower. Beautiful place and scenery. Best piece of fish from the chippy I’ve tasted for ages! (Gower Sole, Penclawdd. Ed). Local pubs don’t do Sunday night meals, but enjoyed The Harvester. House very nice, with everything you need.” (N.S.N)
“A comfortable and well equipped house. We particularly appreciated the range of quality kitchen equipment and local books and maps. Beautiful walks at Llanmadoc, Rhosilli and around Oxwich/Pennard cliffs with ever changing scenery. Loved the variety of landscape, both coastal and inland. Superb meal at The Welcome to Town in Llanrhidian, with fresh local produce and some imaginative dishes.” (J.W)
“Particularly enjoyed the “comfy” bed! Lovely quiet restful spot with every amenity you would need. Enjoyed trip to Wetland Centre, the range of different birdlife, and trip to Kite feeding station near Llandovery. “ (J.H)
"Thank you for a fantastic holiday. It was so relaxing knowing that the house was so well equipped, especially bringing our new baby on her first holiday! The maps were a great help and allowed us to do some beautiful walks, including a few beach picnics! (Feb 2010!) Sally has been so helpful in the run-up and arrival, which added to our restful stay. We would certainly recommend Salthouses to other young families. (A & AH)
